Book review of “A Court of Thorns and Roses” by Sarah J Maas

Description:

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Review:

I finished reading ACOTAR last night, can’t call it last night, this morning at 5.30 a.m. I did not get sleep at all and now, my head aches. But it was worth it. I loved the book so much that I don’t know where to begin with.

First of all, the plot was so complex and so beautifully written, it was entirely unpredictable. I made up a scenario that this would happen ahead and something entirely different happened every time. The story, the environment, the WORLD Sarah J Maas has created is brilliant. I lost myself in the book after 120 pages into the book and did not know that I was flipping pages and reading ahead until I realised that I was losing sleep. Two days of insomnia!!! And it was totally worth it.
Favorite characters :

Tamlin : I loved this character way too much. The love, the fierce love in his heart is displayed amazingly. His bravery, his intelligence, everything was marvellous. To top it all, his gorgeousness. Ah.

Feyre : The protagonist of our book. When I was reading, it felt like I am Feyre. I felt the pain. I gasped for air when things went unacceptably the wrong way. I felt love. I felt her.

Rhysand : Dark yet gorgeous. For me, he is another version of Severus Snape. And I cannot deny it, I love him!!

Lucien: Just LOVED him.

Characters I despised : Attor, Amarantha and Lucien’s brothers.

The book ended with a question in my lips and I cannot wait to pick up ACOMAF and start reading!

Rating: 5/5 stars.
